US Indian Wars M1874 Shoemaker Cavalry Curb Bit W/Leather Curb StrapVery nice unaltered or cleaned M1874 Shoemaker Curb Bit in very good original condition. This bit has a nice even brown patina with no surface pitting. Some remnants of the original arsenal dull nickel finish with both rein rings intact. The lower bar is also tight. Marked “Rock Island” not “RIA” on the outside of the offside branch. The M1874 curb bits were discontinued in 1901 and the early ones were marked “Rock Island.” The later ones were believed to be marked “RIA.” Just a nice genuine US Indian Wars cavalry curb bit. The leather curb strap is supple, and I believe there are inspector initials on the attachment straps. offer plus actual shipping charges to include insurance.
