Vintage U.S. Military Saddlebags Model 1904 with Canvas Liners for the McClellan Saddle, LONG 1917 F.A.W.

Very nice set of Model M1904 or are they Model 1917 saddlebags. These are obviously for the McClellan Saddle, but I don\'t know if they are M1904 or M1917. They come with the original canvas inserts. Marked on the bags: \"LONG 1917 F.A.W.\". They are russet in color and made of pebble grained leather. The US Stamp is very well marked on each bag. Leather bags are still soft and pliable, in good shape with most wear to the buckle straps and high points. Some very, very minor cracking of the leather at the fold on the bottom of one bag. I\'m certain there must be a general conservation or preservation that could or should be done. They appear to be complete, one missing brass rivet or snap that holds the canvas liners on the inside of one bag, other than that no missing parts. One of the three strap retention loops on one bag has come loose on one side. You will also note from the photos that the Brass Foot Staples, (Footman Loops), that attaches to the McClellan saddle that secures the saddlebags to the saddle are both present. A little extra for the winning buyer. Previous owners initials on the inside back of one bag in black marker. Overall nice patina, has their original canvas liners. Not bad for 100+ years old. Very, Very Good Condition! Please be aware, depending on your location, this item properly packaged for shipping and insured, could cost as much as $30.00. I don\'t set these rates, I can only pass them through at cost!!
