21st Century Toys keeps the pressure on with another new product announcement! The latest bad boy is the 1:18 scale Sdkfz. 251/1 Stuka Zu Fuss! The version was one of the most extreme uses of the German Halftrack and will make a great addition to your collections. Shown here in the S1 paint scheme, the Famous Sdkfz. 251, commonly known as the Hanomag, was fitted with six rocket launchers mounted to the sides of the rear fighting compartment. Stuka Zu Fuss literally means Stuka on Foot, a reference to the destructive power of the Stuka dive bomber, but in a ground based unit. The rockets came in three sizes: 280mm, 300mm, and 320 mm. They were mounted in wooden crates that could be attached to brackets on the halftrack. As the weapons were neither accurate nor very long ranged, they were used in barrages to carpet areas. The rockets came in two styles; incendiary and high explosive. This version of the Hanomag halftrack was certainly one of the most dramatic looking German vehicles of World War II.
