A Word About Box & Papers
It is a fact that the majority of vintage Rolex\'s on the market no longer have box & papers, therefore most of our Rolex\'s will not have their original documentation, this does not mean that they are not genuine. We provide our own paperwork with each Rolex we sell, this will show our details and a description of the Rolex sold and include the full serial number and case reference number. Remember just because a Rolex has box & papers it doesn\'t mean that it is genuine! We have over 15 years experience buying, restoring and selling vintage Rolex watches and we vet every Rolex we buy thoroughly. Movements, cases, dials, hands and bracelets must be correct.
Presented in superb condition is this very rare and genuine 1953 stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer. Two aspects to this Rolex make it a very rare type, the first is the beautiful faceted bezel which is like a diamond cut in appearance and really catches the light, the second is the very rare big logo bracelet which are collected in their own right.
The genuine top quality stainless steel Rolex ref: 6284 case is in excellent original condition. The case measures 34mm in diameter excluding the signed screw down Rolex winding crown. The screw in case back is signed \'MONTRES ROLEX SA GENEVA SWITZERLAND STAINLESS STEEL 6284 2 53\', the serial number 934xxx dates this Rolex to 1953 and is original to the watch. The screw down Rolex crown functions properly. The stainless case has the correct combination of brushed satin lug shoulders and highly polished sides, the dial is framed with a beautiful polished faceted cut bezel and is very rare.
The original and very rare 19mm stainless steel expanding Rolex Oyster folded link bracelet is in excellent condition and is fully signed in the clasp with the \'big\' Rolex logo scrolling. The bracelet is complete with 12 links, this will fit a 19cm wrist or can be adjusted down at the clasp. This Rolex bracelet has the correct highly polished sides and brushed satin finish to the top.
The original satin silver dial is in mint condition and is a rare type having a combination of inset silver gilt Arabic numerals and arrow markers. The broad lume filled silver hands and blue steel seconds sweep contrast beautifully with the silver dial. The dial is signed \'ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED SWISS\' with the large inset silver Rolex crown logo in the twelve position.
The high grade automatic 17 Jewel + 2 jewels for the rotor Swiss made Rolex caliber 630 chronometer movement is in superb condition and is keeping excellent time over a 36hr period, this movement has been well cared for over the years and has had a recent service.
