Ultra rare pair 18th C German miner figural pewter candlesticks, Freiberg *:
$815.05
Most likely originating from the Freiberg area of Germany, this pair of 18th century figural pewter candlesticks inscribed and dated 1780 models miners from the ore mountains as they would appear at their annual (Christmas I believe) parade (see my last picture), dressed of course not in their work clothes. Notice, in fact, the inscribed miner's tools on their hats, and both sticks come with their original miner's axe (or meter as it was called). The candlesticks atnd appx 8 1/4" high and are in excellent condition .... the only issue I see is that one figure leans forward a tad more than the other. Three touchmarks are at the underside of the base, but are unintelligible to me (see my 10th picture). Beyond this I'll have to let my pictures tell the rest of the story. Domestic USPS priority mail shipping will run $12.
