You\'re offerding on an antique, lithographic print of Ulysses S. Grant in uniform, with a small facsimile of his signature, published by Currier & Ives, New York, with 152 Nassau St. address - based on the address and the depiction, I\'m guesstimating it dates to the Civil War period. A portrait in black and white with rich tonality and some subtle hand coloration to Grant\'s coat lapels - finer than what one typically expects from a C&I print. Rare to find in the medium folio size - current dimensions are about 14\" X 19 3/4\" - note that I think it may be slightly margin-cropped.
Note that this print does have substantial condition issues - Age toned with some foxing and other visible staining and foxing - a chip at bottom corner and top corner is torn and tape repaired - several small vertical tears at the left and right edges - and some matting burn and residual tape on the back side of the print from past framing and matting.
All that said, it\'s still period-original, retains some visual appeal, and in a scarce-to-find desirable size. Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of condition and appeal, and don\'t hesitate to ask any questions prior to offerding - thanks for looking!
