After Grant left the Presidency, he fell upon financial hardship -- His friends were ready to help him - one friend - the Infamous Jay Gould and other financiers made Grant the President of the Mexican Southern Railroad - Look at this EXTREMELY RARE letterhead and see the rogue\'s gallery that was the Board of Director\'s - Of course General Grenville Dodge and Russel Sage were mostly respected -- During Grant\'s Presidency - Gould and his partner Jim Fisk tried to corner the Gold supply of the United States and almost succeeded -- they influenced Grant\'s Brother in Law -- however Grant was innocent and eventually the house of cards collapsed -- but Gould had a big heart and helped take care of Grant and his family long after Grant had any real influence that could help Gould! Gould was hated -- mostly unfairly -- but really he was a fairly honest guy for the time - he was just smarter than almost anyone else! -- This June 14, 1883 letter is regarding his Portrait at the Cincinnati Industrial Exposition -- All of my sales are guaranteed original and authentic forever!!! -- please email me with any questions -- ALSO Please check my other sales as i will be listing many wonderful and rare Museum quality pieces in the next week and for the next year or so --- thanks david beach
