This is the classic Carl Barks fine art book published in honor of his 80thbirthday - including an important extraattraction not included in most copies. Celestial Arts was George Lucas\'publishing company, and he has written the preface as an Appreciation for Carl Barks and his creation, Uncle Scrooge. The book was created by researching the Disney archives for Carl\'s original black and white ink drawings. A renowned air brush artist was contracted to recolor the drawings into high quality reproductions for printing in book form.TheoriginalLimited Edition of 5000 books all included a lithograph of Scrooge, Donald, and the nephews, numbered and signed by Carl. This particular copy was also personally signed by the Editor, Edward Summer.
Mr. Summer was not hired to work on the book; rather, the concept was his,and hepitched the idea to his friendGeorge Lucas. The book has been opened and read, but all pages are in fine shape; no rips or folds. The binding is good. The front cover has a few nicks that can be seenonly in hard, reflected light.
