UNIQUE 970 SILVER FIGURAL \"JAPANESE SHINTO TORII GATES\" SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS, or use them for SUGAR, CINNAMON, etc. Nice Weight to them...they weigh 2 Ounces, (on my postal scale...1 ounce each), or 56.699 Grams for both. TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES...they are part of our description.Condition is VERY GOOD, some wear to be expected from USE and AGE...BLACK Silver Tarnish has developed and needs to be Polished to bring back BEAUTIFUL SILVER SHINE. A Silversmith or Jeweler will be able to do this for you if you don\'t want to bother.NO DENTS...NO TEARS. Overall size of each is about 2-3/4\" Wide x 2-3/4\" High. The Top Side on each has Holes on One Side for Shaking. There is a Sliding Tab on the Bottom of one of the Columns for Filling, and Signed on the bottom of the other Column Base: SILVER, 970, Higher SILVER CONTENT than Sterling which is 925.They each have a Plaque in Japanese on the Front of each, I can\'t read Japanese, so I don\'t know what it says, if anyone knows, please let me know and I\'ll add it to the listing. No Maker\'s Mark (unless the Plaque indicates it??). A Torii Gate usually indicates an Approach and/or Entrance to a Shinto Shrine or Temple...Symbolic meaning of these Gates is to show a Boundary between the Spirit and Human Worlds.
