Art Deco Le Faguays Metal Sculpture - Dancer with Marble BaseMeasures: 9\" HighFoot signed \"Le Faguays\"In good condition. The foot attached to the base is loose and the dancer is missing the flute in her hands.
Pierre le Faguays, born inRezéin1892and died on September 8,1962inParis, is a French sculptor ofArt Decostyle.

He participated in his first exhibition at the Salon of the Society of French Artists in 1922. He received an honorable mention in 1926 and another honorable mention in the Sculpture section in 1927.A pupil of Vibert at theEcole des Beaux - Arts in Geneva, he worked with several publishers includingMax Le Verrier, theSusse foundry,Etling, nephews of J. Lehman, among others.His style is similar to that ofDemetre Chiparus.

He is the author of the group, in collaboration with Marcel Bouraine,Stele and evolution.It is for him the opportunity to collaborate with the artists Sibyle May and Edouard Cazaux.

Very prolific, his work deals with subjects as varied as marble, stone, terracotta, bronze, ivory or alabaster.It is inspired in particular by the statues of \"Tanagra\".The Faguays is also well-known for creations in cast iron under different pseudonyms such as Guerbe and Fayral, surnames of his mother and his wife.In Paris he presented two groups of sculptures in the pavilion of A. Goldscheider at the Exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Arts.He also participated as an interior architect with two monumental bas-reliefs for the Civil Aviation Room at the1937ParisSpecialized Exhibition.
