The blade exhibits very nice rich patina evenly distributed throughout the surface, it features a distinctive clip point tip with a prolonged raised false edge area and retains good sharp edge throughout its length. Brass hilt mounts exhibiting very nice heavy patina and floral scroll ornaments cast in relief, lion head pommel topping the finely checkered ebony grip which has sustained several old splits on both sides. The guard having a slight play while the pommel is loose and the grip remaining solid and intact with the blade. Interesting and possibly Unique American officer\'s weapon from the Napoleonic wars era, most likely to have been used in battles of the American war of 1812.
