In early 1993 through 1999 Matt put his life on hold to honor his Mothers wishes and engineered an enterprise based on Millie\'s superb creativity and an original wood Rose Bowl seat Rose Bowl officials had given her, Matt had found the perfect fit to honor her and her wishes with the knowledge the University of Michigan had planned to incrementally remove, dump and replace the big house original seats over time as the budget would allow. After developing a few simple products made from the original 2\"x 8\" redwood and cedar bench seats Matt enthusiastically took the risk and entered into agreements with the University to remove and dispose of the entirety of big house seats at no cost to the University. In exchange for this large scale job and cost savings to the University Matt was given exclusive rights to all seats removed at no cost to Matt and permission to fabricate any products with any marks, copy or logo\'s of his choosing. Then Athletic Director, Jack Weidenbach said in support \"Well Matt, if your dumb enough to to do all that for free, we have a deal! I think you just may be successful\". The result of this commitment fully funded by Matt:The development of over 30 unique high quality products in a state of the art efficient and \"green\" light manufacturing facility, sales in all 50 states,13 countries, more than 100% of profits were donated to the \"Millie Schembechler adrenal cancer research fund\" and a few other charitable causes, one of M Den\'s most successful and highest profit product lines and most importantly, according to available records, by a very large margin, became the largest single donor to the \"Millie fund\". The University of Michigan is now the world center of adrenal cancer research where the survival rate is 40 x\'s greater since the creation of the \"Millie fund\" 20 years earlier by her and her primary physician, Dr. David Schteingart.
In the spirit of his Mother, Matt continues to use the original Michigan Stadium seats for and has donated hundreds of his seat products for critical charitable causes such as The Millie Schembechler Adrenal Cancer Research Fund, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer fund \"three day walk\", the Berrien County Children\'s Assessment Center for abused children and University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center for Pancreatic Cancer among many others.
