Offered for your consideration is this vintage jumbo decorativecup and saucer or planter featuring richly detailed scenes of peasant women washing clothes in a river, men with horses at the seaside waiting for a ship to come in and a \"cityscape\" of classical ruins and waterfall. In addition to the paintings there are bands of Wedgwood blue color, and geometric black and gold rims. The cup/planter is 5¼\" wide including the handle, 4\" in diameter at the rim, 2¼\"in diameter at the slightly footed base and stands 3½\" tall. The saucer which is more like a shallow bowl, is 6½\" in diameter and 1-3/8\" high at the rim. In overall good condition with some slight signs of wear to the gold trim and overall crazing, most noticeable on the underside of the cup. The underside of the saucer is a mottled tan and white...not sure if that was deliberate or is age-related. There is also somelight staining on the interior of the cup, most likely from its use as a planter. An amazing set that would look great with a plant or as a stand-alone decorative accessory.
