For sale is one pair of unused original French Metis sheets, one is finished with the broad ladder-work hem, and the other is plain (top & bottom sheets). Metis is a mix of cotton & linen and is a wonderful fabric for bedding, being warm in winter and cool in summer. These sheets are vintage, and the in original wrapping. These sheets make perfect furniture throws or upholstery material.
These sheets are atraditional wedding dowry gift in France which would often be embroidered with the initials of the bride & groom.
Metis is a fabric that softens and lightens in colour with every wash, before use they should be soaked in a bath tub for 24 Hrs then washed on a boil wash before use. This will remove any packaging crease marks and begin to lighten the ivory / mid cream colour of this sheet.
