Unusual Victorian double lidded silver box

A rare late 19th-century (1896) sterling silver oblong box with two hinged lids for snuff/travelling inkwell?

Made by the luxury maker \"A. Barrett & Sons, 63 and 64 Piccadilly -silversmiths and jewellerswhospecialisedin high-class novelties\" (1914 Whitakers Red Book)

Gilt interior.

Both of the lids are fully hallmarked. They are also stamped with the maker\'s logo.

The glass container has a star burst pattern on the base.

An exceptional piece.
