We are delighted to offer this, extremely rare and unusual, circa 1923, Dean\'s Rag Book Co., Ltd. doll, A 1 \"Tru-to-Life\" model #D1248, as shown in reference book, \"Deans\' of Yesterday\"-Miller (page 48). Also described in detailon page 63, \"Cloth Dolls\"-Judd.Character boy, \"Cherub Dutch Boy\", is 13\" tall and from their \"Cherub Series\" and has the distinctive, \"Dean\'s\" molded mask-type face with swivel sockethead and shoulderheadapplied to his stockinet muslinbody with padded wire armature and lower wood jointed arms, hands and lower wooden legs (similar to bisque dolls of this era). He has beautiful features with expressive blue eyes, eye shadow, eyelashes, brows and an open/closed, smilingmouthshowing his teeth.He wears all hisoriginal felt and velveteen outfit including baggy trousers, shirt, tie, orange jacketand woolen cap andis such a rarely found example of this fine Englishmanufacturing company that still produces wonderful teddy bears and clothtoys today. Other dolls from this series (shown in photos) are not included and each listed separately.
