Unusual Georgian Silver Teapot. Griffin Head Spout. Hallmarked London 1799:
Details:A very nice Georgian sterling silver teapot. Unusual griffin head spout. Chased and embossed decoration. A very nice size holding over 2 pints. Pours very well and has no holes.
Hallmarks / date / Maker: Hallmarked English sterling silver with hallmarks for London 1799. The maker on the base is SA overstamping another hallmark. This other hallmark appears on the lid which looks to be GT.
Condition: Good. No damage / dents. Handle is secure. No pin holes. Pours very well. No splits or repairs. There is a very light and very minor crease just forward of the hinge. Lid fits very well with good hinge. A really fine teapot.
