UNUSUAL HANAU GERMAN 800 SILVER POSY SPECIMEN VASE c1900 ANTIQUE:

A superb German silver posy vase. It is hallmarked with Hanau marks along with the makers mark of Simon Rosenau and the 800 standard mark. I would date this piece to c1900. For those unawareHanua was a region of Germany famous for producing interesting silver in thestyle of earlier pieces. It has been beautifully made with the bodybeing embossed with flowers with a pedestal base and is unusual having fiveseparate openings in a fan shape. It is in superb condition being free fromdings splits holes and repairs. It measures 3.5 inches (8.9cms) tall by approx.2.25 inches (5.7cms) at its widest point and weighs 43 grams. A beautifullymade more unusual piece.
