Unusual Northern Philippine sword from Luzon showing Spanish Colonial influence. Intricately carved buffalo horn handle, steel guard and silver ferrule and pommel. Scabbard made of wood and covered with woven plant fiber (palm?). I have seen a few Bolo knives with this kind of carved handle over the years but I have never seen a sword. Dates from the late 1800\'s to the early 1900\'s. Good condition- slight damage to ball on pommel (see picture #12). Blade measures 26 1/2 inches, sword measures 33 inches overall. Guard measures 4 inches across. Overall length in scabbard is 35 inches. See my other antique arms and armor. Shipping will be by Standard mail-$27.41 including insurance.
