Presented is A LOVELY NATURALISTIC WOOD GRAIN EFFECT CHINESE EXPORT SILVER COFFEE POT BY ZEEWO C.1890.

I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS EXACT PATTERN OF GRAINING BEFORE.

THECHINESE EXPORT SOLID SILVER COFFEE POT is of asymmetrical shape made to resemble a TREE TRUNK with central wood grain effect. THE WOOD GRAIN IS AN UNUSUAL VARIATION OF THE MORE TYPICAL WOOD GRAIN PATTERN. The spout, handle and applied finial are of BRANCH FORM. There are heavily repoussed andAPPLIED flowering PLUM BLOSSOM branches, to the body, spout and lid. The lid/cover is hinged. There is a small late 19th century monogram (THIS MATCHES THE TEASET ON TRAY I CURRENTLY HAVE LISTED).

This is a very attractive WOOD GRAIN EFFECT COFFEE POT (almost matching the teaset on tray currently listed but with an unusual variation of graining). It is a good size standing approx. 6.75 inches (over 11 cm high) and approx 9 inches (nearly 23 cm) end of handle to tip of spout. It is solid, weighing approx. 19.5 troy ounces (606 grams).

The coffee pot is signed : ZEEWO and 2 CHINESE CHARACTERS. This is made by ZEEWO c.1890.

The condition of the COFFEE POT is SUPERB, with NO WEAR WHATSOEVER. There are NO REPAIRS OR DAMAGE and it has a lovely old patina. There is normal surface scratching and it could do with a good polish
