Being offered is an unusual war club from Papua New Guinea that would date to the middle of the 20th century. This is a very heavy club and measures 35\" from tip to tip when measured in a straight line. The end is done in a large barrel shape with dozens of triangular cut outs. Perhaps these areas were inlaid at one time but nothing remains nor any evidence of what might have been in there. Also has a strange protrusion at the very top of the club. As mentioned, this is a very heavy club so perhaps it is made of ironwood or some other dense heavy wood. The color is brown but variegated. At some point it had some green and white paint get on it.
