Unusual Royal Doulton Bowl Oyama Pattern c.1930s:

This is a Royal Doulton bowl in the sought after Oyama pattern c. 1930s. Usually this pattern is inblue and white but this bowl has a pale green background. The base mark is as per photos with animpressed 4559 and hand scripted D39984. It has a maximum diameter of 8.25\" (20.9 cm), basediameter of 4\" (10.2 cm) and height of 2.5\" (6.4 cm). It weighs 0.5 kg. Generally good condition -tiny chip at the rim (photo), a black line in the glaze (photo) not a fault but a flaw in the glaze at timeof manufacture. This bowl is sure to be of interest to both Royal Doulton collectors and Orientalists.
