Firstly, let me say that vintage items are items previously owned and worn. I am not referring to a specific period when I say vintage. I am falling into line with a lot of people who call used items \"vintage\" although in my own mind vintage means antique. So, I will add further information about a piece if I have further details. For example, if the item is genuine Art Deco, I will say so.
A very attractive bracelet which is a bit unusual too. It is made from two colours of faux pearls which run alternatively along the bracelet length. These come in what I call a deep plum colour and a light pink. I would say the pink has a lavender influence too. The faux pearls are not entirely smooth. They are more like baroque pearls but perhaps not so dimpled. Each is joined to its neighbour via a gold plated chain link. Bracelet is approx. 7 1/2 inches in length. Just over an 1 inch away from the clasp there is a large dangle made from fancy worked gold plated metal. It is supported on metal shaped somewhat like a coathanger but fancier. The fancy metal is a plate which folds around slightly, as though the right and left sides are folding back onto itself. At the centre there is a large oval purple facet cut rhinestone, prong set. This sits in a band of metal approx. 1/8th inch deep. When you look where the coathanger is attached to this shape you find two flower shapes, side by side. These are made from a gold plated stamping in the shape of a flower with open petals. They have a small purple stone at their centre and a row of clear rhinestones around it. The rhinestones are prong set. Sitting in the gaps of the petals and facing upwards slightly, are oval shaped beads in plum which look like faux pearls. I believe these are wired into position. Quite elaborate and very pretty. Faux pearls are in very good condition. When the bracelet is on the wrist, depending upon the size of your wrist of course, the large dangle does not hang freely on a long length of bracelet. It sits nearer to the wrist. I have a matching pair of earrings which I am listing separately.
