War of 1812 era Militia Hat With Cockade and eagle:

This is a well made War of 1812 era reproduction hat. These were worn by militia groups that were organized to fight along with the regular units (see reference picture). This hat is made of 100% wool felt and is marked as large in size (22 3/4 ) circumference, 5 inch tall crown with a 2 inch brim. It also has a muslim cotton adjustable liner for comfort. It has an US eagle stamped black leather cockade with a smaller white silk cockade (which would identify as militia) and a pewter eagle on the side as well as a removable green head band which would represent a light infantry unit. This hat is old but was well constructed and is in excellent condition with no rips stains or tears. If any questions, please contact me
