Here you have a custom, privately purchased, post World War II, circa Korean War US Navy Officer\'s White Cotton Service Visor Frame Cap. The Cap, tailored by Bancroft, comes with a WWII White Cotton Cap Crown and Gold Filled and Sterling Officer\'s Cap Insignia. The size 71/8 cap is in good condition.

The Frame Visor Cap features the Summer White Cotton Cap Cover. The White Cotton Cover was from WWII. The bamboo frame is from just after the War or from the Korean War. Many officers stayed in the active reserves or were recalled to service during the Korean War. There are no air hole grommets. There is some darkening to the white cotton crown and several small tears, ostensibly from catching something or pulls. The officer’s band around the base of the cap is Navy Blue Wool. The base of the cap has a very faded, poor conditioned, gold officer\'s band secured by two eagle and anchor buttons that show wear.

The black patent leather visor retains its striking patent finish. The visor’s stitching is intact. It has a green underside. The crown retains its grommet (or stiffener) that holds the shape. The Eagle, Shield and Anchor Insignia is both substantial and most likely from World War II. There is a significant amount of sterling silver and gold fill as the insignia appears to have some heft. It needs to be removed and polished. It has darkened with the passage of time. I will leave that to the buyer.

The sweatband is leather, perforated and is completely intact. A few stitches are starting to loosen. The seatband is pliable and supple. The band has Bancroft\'s information embossed in gold. It is the Zephyr Model. The clear sweat shield protects Bancroft\'s information that is embossed to a white leather insert. The crown is lined with navy blue black rayon. There is a slot for the Officer\'s business card. This cap is not named. The cap\'s frame is made of the desired bamboo styling. A Size 71/8 Tag is under the sweatband. The cap is correctly sized.
