Listed this week is session two of this very fine estate collection of snuff bottles. This is surely one of our Largest Asian art estate sales to date. The bottles and other items listed are from the estate of Henrietta Anthony of Quebec. Ms. Anthony owned one of the most prominent antique galleries in Montreal that she ran from the age of 18 to 80, for 62 years. Anthony also owned a large and very successful vineyard in the hills of southern Quebec. Ms. Anthony had a passion for Chinese art with a keen interest in snuff bottles and was well known in the area for being a top dealer and knowledgeable appraiser. The bottles listed are from her private collection of fine and unique examples she kept over the years. I am told most of the bottles were purchased 30-40 years ago mainly in London, Hong Kong, and New York. I believe this is a rare opportunity to acquire some very fine fresh to market examples. Up for sale is a fine Chinese carved jade pebble snuff bottle. This snuff bottle is part of a large estate collection up for sale this week. This collection includes a fine collection of antique snuff bottles that were collected approximately 30 years ago.

This snuff bottle is a very fine example carved of authentic white jade. I believe this snuff bottle would date to the Qing dynasty period. The snuff bottle has a nice natural pebble form. The snuff bottle is finely and deeply carved throughout the interior. The snuff bottle is in fine condition with no damage. The snuff bottle has an old collection label from when purchased. I am told this bottle was purchased around 30-40 years ago in Hong Kong so this price may be in Hong Kong dollars, which would have made sense at the time. The snuff bottle measures 1 1/2 inches wide, by 1 inch deep. The snuff bottle sits 2 1/2 inches tall without its lid, and 2 3/4 inches tall with its lid. The snuff bottle with lidweighs 94 grams. This snuff bottle would make a great addition to any collection, and is a fine investment grade example.
