offered for sale is this extremely fine liberty & cotudricart nouveau pewter preserve dish withits green glasslinershown to its best advantage against through the wonderful pierced work of thepewter,it isfrom the secessionist jugendstil period of the early 1900\'s& instantly recognisable as coming from the design portfolio of archibald knox which formed the basis of the tudric & cymric ranges of art nouveau pewter & silver ware sold by liberty & co,the liner isa snug fit with good colour & weight and itis inexcellentcondition with no chips or cracks but there are some minor surface scratches &striations within the glass as is typical of hand blown pieces of this period,the pewteris in a polished conditionand thereis no discernabledamage or repairthewonderful knox celtic weave designwhich is repeated around the body of thepiece,clearly marked to the base 0575,it measures 5.25\" across the feet and the liner is 4\" in diameter and should be considered as in near perfect condition,this would be amust haveaddition to any collection at any level. thepiece is well over 100 years old and a true antique so may have signs of age and use.
