offered for sale is this very fine example ofanart nouveau pewter teapot,made during the secessionist jugendstil period of the early 1900\'s and easily recognisable as coming from the portfolio of designs by archibald knox,these designs formed the basis for the tudric & cymric ranges of art nouveau pewter & silver ware retailed by liberty & co,itis in a polished condition and as a resultthe bodyhas a shimmering mirror like finish as it had when first made over 100 years ago with absolutely no loss to the wonderful knox honesty & entrelacdesign, itretains its intricately woven covering to the handle which is in near perfect condition,the lid is in good order as is the hinge and works well opening and closing easily,the thumbed retains its original hard wood heat guards,the interior is clean,the base shows signs of some de-denting which is typical of this design,it is fully marked to the basewith the design number 0231,the number indicates that thispiece iscirca 1903/4,overall condition should be considered as excellent.it is well over100 years oldand has minor signs of age & usage.
