Up for sale is aVERY NICE ANTIQUE S. SHERWOOD, LONDON, FINE SILVER CASED, POCKET WATCH.

The key wind and set pocket watch is presently running. The watch was wound and started on prompt…and ran for a few short minutes. The watch has not been tested for accuracy or length of run, but it was wound and is running as I list it.

These watches are all fresh from an estate collection, so to be safe for the sale, we always assume they may need a good cleaning or servicing to be keeping in full working order.

As shown in the photos, the single-sunk white porcelain enamel dial is with quite a few hairlines running across the dial and subdial.The face is marked“S. Sharwood, London” with bold Roman Numerals. The hour hand is missing. The case is plain in design and has several small dints to the case body edge. The swing ring is held on with a wire, rather than a pin.The case is marked on the inside of the back cover as well as inside the cuvette cover“Fine Silver”. Theinner Cuvette is engraved“S. Sharwood, 181 St. Johns Street Road, Clerkenwell, and at 121 Bishopsgate Street City.\" The bezel is missingthe crystal.The hinged back and front covers snap closed as they should. The key wind & set brass toned plain movement is marked’S.Sharwood, London’and is presently running as mentioned above and is not marked with maker or serial number. There is some roughness to the edge of the cruvette where is has beenopened over the years.

The pocket watch measures approximately 41mm wide. The dial measures about 41mm in diameter.
