VERY NICE LARGE JAPANESE SAMURAI O TANTO DAGGER SHORT SWORD 17TH C:

This is a wonderful example of an early Large Japanese \"O\" Tanto in shira saya which dates from the Kambun Era (circa 1661). It is mounted with a lovely blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 13 1/8 inches in length and from tip to tip measures 18 1/8 inches in length. The blade remains in superb polished condition with its beautiful large straight temper line still present and is mounted with a solid silver habaki. The tang wears one hole and is signed which translates to \"Sagami No Kami KUNIMASA\". The wooden storage housing (shira saya) remains in fabulous condition. This O Tanto IS papered and the papers are included in this sale. Overall the outer housing measures 20 1/2inches in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this sale)
