VERY RARE ANTIQUE EARLY 18THC DUTCH SILVER TEA CADDY, ANDRIES RODA HAARLEM 1714:

ITEM DESCRIPTION

An extremely rare and early Dutch silver tea caddy.

By Andries Roda, working in Haarlem c. 1676-1729.

The date letter \'D\' for 1714.

Stunning, top quality work.

Measuring 4.75 inches/12cm tall.

Fully and cleanly struck to the underside base also twice to the body just above the foot.

Excellent condition with just shallow minor dents to one side of the body and another very minor ding to the other side, no damage or repair, a good silversmith will pull the minor dents out no problem - see pic 5 showing the side contours.

In 2009 Christies Amsterdam sold a very similar caddy attributed to Roda for 6,000 euros plus premium -
