Up for your consideration is a
very rare antique warrior hat from the Philippines.
It comes from the Ifugao tribe possibly Kalinga or Bontoc.
Very well Handmade , and very exquisite .
This hat would date to the early 20th century.
It\'s a hand woven rattan frame that has beautiful textile fabric wrapped around the rattan frame.
A string of seed beads have been strung around the perimeter of the hat. There is a seated Bulul ancestor figure hanging from the hat, along with a tusk, a very old well preserved monkey skull and several ornate feathers. A very well preserved and important tribal artifact.
On the front of the hat , the right stringed beads have come loose , so I have them tucked behind the tusk ..
