THIS VERY RARE HANGING CUPBOARD COME OUT A COLLECTION IN NEW YORK STATE. IT WAS FOUND ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO NEAR THE MT LEBANON SHAKER COMMUNITY.
ALTHOUGH WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THIS PIECE AS BEING SHAKER IT HAS ALL THE ATTRIBUTES AS WELL A CLASSIC \"SHAKER\" LOOK.

A FANTASTIC EARLY 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN HANGING STEP-BACK LIGHTING CUPBOARD, CHERRY AND POPLAR IN GREAT ORIGINAL OLD GRUNGY UNPAINTED SURFACE AND NICE OLD PATINA WITH ITS ORIGINAL BOTTOM DRAWER. New England, Probably Mt. Lebanon Shaker Community, Circa 1820-1840.

A wonderful early hanging step-back cupboard with a bottom drawer. It has the \"CLASSIC\" SHAKER hanger on the back which is part of the one board original back. The shelf is dadoes into the sides. It also has the classic Shaker \"angular\" stepped sides. The bottom drawer is of nailed construction and still retains all of its original nails and its very rare original brass knob.
The woods are cherry with a poplar drawer bottom, again classic Shaker woods.
The surface is its original old varnish over the cherry.

Whether this is a Shaker piece or not it is one great hanging cupboard.

WONDERFUL CONDITION WITH NO REPAIRS OR LOSSES except some very minor surface abrasions.

Great size it is 21\" tall, 24\" to top of hanger, 16\" wide and it cants from 4\" at the top to 12\" at the base.

The wood is native Cherry and Poplar.
