A exceptionally rare and very large antique Victorian Scottish agate \'bow tie\' design silver pebble brooch which is in excellent condition.The way the stones have been carefully chosen and shaped is a delight and makes this one of the finest brooches I\'ve listed so far !The stones chosen are pink and grey banded agate from Luthrie in Fife,mustard and red speckled jasper from the Campsie Fells,grey and white banded agate from Montrose and a speckled red and green bloodstone.The size is huge at 86mm x 25mm or 3 6/16 inch x 1 inch.The original C clasp has been replaced with a roll over locking type clasp,this has been done very well and locks the pin in place very securely.The hinge and pin areoriginal and in perfect working order.The silver has been tested and is guaranteed sterling silver.Thanks for looking and please view my other antique Scottish agate jewellery items.
