VERY RARE Vintage Collectible 1950\'sGibson TU3 Ukulele
VINTAGE 1950\'s GIBSON UKULELE TU-3 TENOR UKE Early1950\'s. Gibson only made about 200 of these, and this is all original sunburstlacquer finish. Mahogany body. The tophas some gouges around both sides of the neck between the sound hole and top ofuke.
The neck is straight and secure; but it only playsto about the 10th fret and will need to be refretted for completefingerboard access. There is a label onthe back of the neck which identifies Parker Music Co. Houston TX.
Triple bound top, back, and multi- banded soundhole. Has vintage polished bone nut and saddle.
Picture 11 shows serial number 604538 and at bottom of picture TU3.
Theoriginal tuners have been replaced with Waverly tuners. There are no cracks or splits and it is ingood overall condition except for the refretting and gouges mentioned above. Strap button have been added to the bottomand the neck.
This Uke comes with a soft shell case.
These sell for $2,500 and up but due to the needfor restoration, I am starting the offer at $1,000 below the low end ofpricing.
