Up for sale with is a Very Rare 18th Century Georgian Sterling Silver Tea or Hot Water Urn. The Urn is a fine and very rare solid Sterling example made in London inthe year 1771, by well noted top period Silversmith Auguste Le Sage of London. The Urn is very stylishfeaturing nice scrolling handles design with acorn finial, and paw feet. TheSamovar also featuresnice Period Family Armorial, along with great rams head armorial to the lid.The lid, base, and center portion all have matching period hallmarks. As you can see the center pot unlocks to reveal an inner compartment for placing hot coals, etc. to keep tea, coffee, hot waternice andwarm. I have also seen such pots used for Wine and Punches, which they also work very nicely for. Sterling is also considered one of the cleanest and most sanitary metals that can be used in conjunction with drinks and food consumption.The Samovar is in very fine condition for its early age showing moderate light marks and light wear consistent with it\'s early age of very close to 250 years old. The Samovar has no holes, or repairs. The tap turns on and off perfectly, does not leak at all and pours perfectly as well. (We tested it). The Samovar is a large and impressive size measuring15-1/4 inches tall by11 inches wide across the handles or3-1/4 inches wide across the top opening and will hold approx14 cups.TheTea Urn is also nice Thick Solid Sterling Silver weighing1965 gramsin total.You rarely see Solid Sterling Silverexamples like this come up for sale,especially being offered with absolutely!
