This unusual Sampson Mordan travelling pencil measures 85mm (3.5\'\') long closed x 115mm (4.5\'\') long open and weighs 21 grams. It dates to the early 1900\'s and is marked \" S. Mordan & Co Sterling Silver \" and is not the usual format of Mordan travelling pencil with the mechanism looking very similar to drop pencils, with a screw top end as a lead reservoir. It is in goodconditionwith the friction fit and the lead propelling mechanism both working as they should and no repairs with a lead size M. An unusual format of pencil from the finest maker of the period.
