This is a VERY RARE and ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PAIR of EARRINGS that was made in the VICTORIAN PERIOD around 1880. They are HANDMADE from STERLING SILVER & GOLD GILT and they ORIGINATE from EUROPE. The earrings are set with 2 LARGE ROSE CUT DIAMONDS that weigh approx. 1 ctw. They each spread like .60 ct and have a light grayish color that was common of rose cuts from this period. They are BEZEL-SET and the backs are closed. There are an additional 38 ROSE CUT DIAMONDS that weigh approx. .75 ctw. These diamonds have a spread of .03 - .07 ct each. The earrings are also set with 2 NATURAL EMERALDS that weigh approx. .50 ctw. These bezel-set emeralds are rectangular shapes and one is darker in color than the other. These earrings measure 1-11/16” long, including the wire and they are just over 1/2” at the widest point. The total weight is 9.1 grams. I have very lightly cleaned these earrings and will leave any remaining cleaning to the new owner since many people prefer the pieces with the original patina.
