This is a lovely rare PAIR of EARLY VICTORIAN solid sterling silvertable spoons or servingspoons that was made in BRISTOL, England in 1837 by the illustrious Georgian silversmith,Robert Williams. Each measures9 1/8\" long and is 2\" across its bowl. They are the FIDDLE pattern and are engraved to the handles with a detailed armorial crest over the monogram D. Each spoon weighs79.9 grams - making a total weight ofwell over 4 3/4troy oz.

They are in very good condition with just the usual surface scratching than you\'d expect for their age and no dings or dents and with much less thanthe usual wear and dimplingto the bowls - SUPERB. Each is hallmarked on the reverse of the handle with RW, A,lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), triple castle, Victoria duty mark showing that they were each hallmarked in Exeter in 1837. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A rare pair of Provincial Victoriantable spoons from an illustrious West Country silversmith in superb condition afterover 175 years and at a very low start!!!!
