*VICTORIAN SILVER INDIAN ONE RUPEE COIN BROOCH 1862*

Up for sale I have thislovely Victorian silver coin brooch made from an Indian one rupee coin dated1862. Please judge for yourself the condition of the brooch from the picturesand if it’s in a condition you would be happy with. During the Victorian periodmaking jewellery from coins was a popular pastime especially ones from farawaylands so they could be kept as keep sakes. Brooches like this were also createdby soldiers in the trenches to past the time and are known as “trench art”. Thebrooch itself is in great condition and shows clearly how it was made with theback pin being soldered onto the coin. The pin on the brooch is unbroken andfree moving so the brooch could easily be worn if you wanted. I’ve given thebrooch a bit of a polish to improve appearance though I’m sure it could becleaned further if you wished. Approximate diameter of the brooch is 30mm andit weighs approximately 12.16g.
