This is a super ANTIQUE VICTORIANsolid sterling silver cigarette casewhich was made in Birmingham, England in 1897 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, George Nathan & Ridley Hayes of Nathan & Hayes at their Icknield Street workshops. It is a double and holds cigarettes on both sides. It measures3\" wide by3 5/8\" high. It is very substantial - it weighs110.0 grams -over 3 1/2troy oz. It is engraved to the front of the lid with a detailed armorial crest.

It hasalittle less than the usual light surface scratching anda small collection ofdingsand dents picked up over 117 years. Even the internal gilding is inpretty good condition - SUPER. It is hallmarked to thebase with G.N over R.H, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),three sheaves,Oshowing that it was hallmarked in Chester in 1897. The lid is also hallmarked lion passant and O. I have shown the main hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A really superb and high quality ANTIQUE VICTORIANcase in good condition afterover 115 years!!!!!! Postage will be FREE within the UK and from 4.50GBP to international destinations.
