VINTAGE 1920\'s AERO UKE, STROMBERG-VOISENET, ORIGINAL, REAL DEAL, SUPER RARE:
$1850.00

This is a super rare original 1920\'s Aero-Uke. It was made by Stromberg-Voisenet (although some people think Harmony). No doubt inspired by the Linbergh craze of the era, these airplane inspired ukes are extremely sought after and crazy rare. I can\'t even find another one listed for sale anywhere. Although there are some custom made (and expensive) replicas being produced, original examples like this one very rarely come up for sale. These were produced with either black or gold deco designs, and AERO-UKE logo, on the top, with the gold designs being the more rare and desirable (and of higher value in the Vintage guitar price guide). This one has the gold designs. This uke is in as found condition. I have not attempted to clean, repair or even restring it. I will leave that for the new owner. It is all original with the exception of one changed tuner. Finish is original. It is missing the \"tail fin\" on the headstock but it does not effect anything and a replacement could be very easily made (the footprint of the original fin is clearly visible). That\'s it, it is otherwise all intact. It is in good condition with several scratches, nicks, wear and patina (and almost 90 years old). It has a solid spruce top and is a well made uke. There is a fine drying type crack running with the grain across the top (easily repaired). There are a couple of back cracks that have been non-pro glued and a hairline. Someone has reglued the neck joint at some point and it needs some cleaning up or maybe even re-doing (see photos) although it seems very solid . Again, I have not attempted to clean the uke in any way. It still has some very old steel strings on it. It could use a some TLC but having said that, overall it\'s in good solid shape. There are no cracks on the neck or headstock. The neck is straight and it is very playable with typical vintage uke style action. Frets show normal moderate wear and are in good shape with plenty of life. It seems to be very resonant and I\'m sure it will be a very good sounding uke. I believe with just a new set of strings it will play okay just the way it is. It measures approx. 24\" in overall length with a wing span (width) of 14 1/2\". The scale length is 14\". These are justridiculouslyrare and extremelycollectibleand cool. The 2014 Vintage Guitar Price Guide values it, with gold designs, at $2200 to $2700. Again, I can\'t even find another one for sale and haven\'t see one in years. Super rare, original, vintage 1920\'s Aero-Uke!! This is a 3 DAY LISTING only and I\'m having second thoughts as it is so get it quick!!! No case but will be very carefully packed for shipping. Buyer pays $28 priority shipping. International buyers please contact first. Thank you.
