VINTAGE 1936 SINGER PORTABLE ELECTRIC SEWING MACHINE 99-13 WITH KNEE CONTROL:
$100.00

According to the Singer Sewing Machine Co. this vintage knee control electric Singer Sewing Machine was manufactured on January 8, 1936 in Elizabeth, NJ. It was bought by my German-born mother when she came to America in 1939. She was a trained seamstress in Germany, who became an American citizen and used this machine for only her personal use until 1998. It appears to be in good working condition, (see stitching photo that I have just sewn with this machine) and the machine has the power to sew through thick materials. It comes with the desirable \"Bentwood\" cover and many attachments and also includes the key, which needs to be used to keep the cover on the machine when not in use. The machine is mounted on a wooden base and when tilted there is a small compartment under the machine to store attachments, bobbins, etc. The total height when closed, including the carrying handle is 14 1/2\" and is 17 1/4\" wide and 8 1/4\" deep. The total weight is 35 lbs. My mother derived great satisfaction in using this machine to make her own clothes. May you enjoy using it as much as she did.
