WOW! SCARCE, VINTAGE \"MASTER SPY\" CAP PISTOL believed to have been used as the basis for the First and Second Season ray gun prop in the 1960s TV series \"LOST IN SPACE\" !!
SAME DESIGN as REMCO \"Hamilton Invaders\" / \"Monkey Division\" toy pistols!
Measures approximately 11\" long, this is a NEW OLD STOCK in the original Bag with colorful header card! Has a removable red \"silencer\" end piece. Sturdy, thick plastic construction with metal cap gun mechanism looks like it came right off the store shelf in the 1960s. Metal cap workings and trigger shine like new. Bag is supple. The header card still has the punch out circle intact, where the card would have been hung on a display rack! Pictures show the condition. The gun itself is either mint, or about as close to mint as you will likely ever find.
Price was originally under a dollar, as the header card has a blank price circle with a \"ยข\"! That brings back memories. From what I can find, this was also marketed as a \"Space Master\" pistol with the same design. My guess is they changed the name of the gun to \"Master Spy\" to capitalize on the James Bond and Man from U.N.C.L.E. spy trend, but that\'s just a guess.

This spy toy gun was made in the early 1960\'s. It is believed that the \"Lost in Space\" 1st season laser pistol was made from this toy? Modifications to the gun was added such as the eye viewer, neck piece, and round disc added to the gun. This toy was also painted green, and used as a military gun as well. This toy was never marketed as a \"\"Lost in Space\" item.But still, I have seen this toy gun sell for well over $100. on .
I had thought about making my own Lost in Space prop, but couldn\'t bring myself to dismantle a near mint to mint original toy like this, so I am selling it.
Historical Note: this toy space gun / spy pistol was sold by a company called the \"Famus Toy Company\" (that is not a misspelling of \"famous,\" that was how the company spelled its name).
