Truly terrific New Old Stock \"Enid Collins\", Medina Texas, designed Wood Box Purse. Extremely rare to find one of these in unused condition in original box. Not sure this was ever opened other than when I obtained it & for photos.
Great design with bedazzled floral look. Rich wood grain. All of her purses were individually made, so even the same model will be a little different than the next. I believe this style was made of Dogwood. Neat labeling & mirror inside lid. The leather snap, handle & all parts of the box look almost mint. There are a few minor surface imperfections, but you have to look for them.
The original cardboard box has some wear as seen in pictures, but it is nice to have it.
If you have not researched Mrs. Collin\'s work, please do so. It is a terrific history & American success story for an in home start up company. She was a great artist with a brilliant mind as well. She made these purses & various other items from the late 1950\'s to 1970 when she sold the brand to another company. The rest you can look up, you will enjoy the research.
