VINTAGE 1970\'s BROWN LLADRO FRANCISCAN MONK W/ ORIGINAL BLUE EMBLEM (NO ACCENT):

The history of this particular family piece:This elegant Lladro figurine of a Franciscan Monk was purchased in West Berlin, Germany,
in the early 1970s at the U.S. Tempelhof Air Base PX.
(there was no box)It was made by the Lladro Porcelain Factory in Valencia, Spain.
Its sculptor was Salvador Debon.It has long been discontinued and very difficult to find. It stands almost 14 inches tall with a 5 inch base, and is in excellent condition.This is not a later version of model #2060, but rather, a much rarer original and
does not have the #2060 on it.It has the original first blue emblem, or stamp, for Lladro,
consisting of a bellflower and ancient chemical symbol on the base and the words
\"Hand Made in Spain\".
There is what appears to be the capital letter A or H,and also what looks like a flower,
impressed in the clay. This piece was also made before the accent over the \"o\" was added,
again, adding to its rarity.
The information concerning the emblem was obtainedand shown at this

to the United States almost thirty seven years ago,
part of the packing paper was from the U.S. Military Newspaper,
\"The stars and Stripes\".It is dated November 4, 1978, further adding to its origin date.When it was mailed home it was stored until now, and has never been displayed.
