* Hematite Stone: Cabochon, 3/8 inch Wide x 1/4 inch High

* Brass bezel-setting around hematitestone sits up approximately 1/8 inch high

* Bezel-setting has a circular base 5/8inches in diameter (about the size of a dime)

* Sunburst: Approximately 1-3/8 inch diameter (biggerthan a quarter)

Materials& Construction:

* Sterling Silver: Sunburst shape with geometric stamped detail oneach sun ray

* Brass Setting: Central stoneset in brass setting with geometric stamped detail

* Mixed Metal – the perfect neutral:Coordinates with gold, silver, copper accessories

* Hematite Stone: Cabochon stone set in stamped simple brass bezel-setting

* Maker’s Mark: “MW” stampedon back of one earring

* French style ear wires for pierced ears. Hypoallergenic wires are silver-toned, decoratedwith a small round brass bead and a small silver-toned coiled wire bead.

Historyof Designer / Unique Qualities: These sunburst earrings were purchased from agallery in Virginia Beach that specialized in Southwestern and Ethnic jewelry,clothes, and accessories. They werepurchased in the early 1980s when the shop owner sold many Native American madepieces. (The mass-produced hypoallergenic ear wires were original to theseearrings – likely selected because their mixed-metal colors coordinated so wellwith the earrings). The back of one of the earrings is stamped/signed: “MW” - rightside up\"M\" and an upside down \"M\" which is the maker’s mark usedby Navajo Artisian Marqueta McCray. Theartist’s attention to detail makes these beautifully crafted earrings an unusualtreat, consistent with the high quality of Native American artistry.
