LONE SCOUT MAGAZINE

PUBLISHED BY W.D. BOYCE COMPANY CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

\"Lone Scouts of America (U.S.A.)was a Scouting organization for American boys that operated from 1915 until it merge with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) in 1924. The LSA was founded by W.D. Boyce, publisher of the Chicago Ledger and the Saturday Blade and was one of the founders of the BSA. Boyce felt that the program of the BSA did not help the rural boy who could not find enough other boys to form a troop or a patrol.

The Lone Scout program is still in existence with about 4000 members world wide.\"

The Lone Scout Magazine was published weekly and sold by the members. It is interesting to see the price in January was 1 cent, increased to 2 cents and the final price was 3 cents a copy. This over a period of just a few months.
