VINTAGE ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST OIL PAINTING Mid Century Listed William Corasick 1950 PA
Raw, high energy abstract oil painting with applied painted canvas forms. This outstanding work from 1950 is three dimensional, as the collage canvas elements are both smoothly integrated and purposely layered. This painting has outstanding compositional movement, creating a continuous reflexive feel. Overall warm tone to this work is amplified through multiple layers of deep yellow, ochre and sienna with dark blue, crimson and white highlights. Brings to mind the work of Arshile Gorky in both its jagged form and spontaneous configuration.
