This is a gorgeous and incredibly rare 2 sided advertising lighter for POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN with all the iconic characters featured in the cartoon series. OLIVE OIL, BLUTO,WIMPY and more. It is quite rare and in near mint condition. The celluloid wrap is perfect. There is a tiny scrape on one of the metal lips along the steel lighter top but barely noticeable. These often come from improper storage.

My photos do not do justice to the bright and crisp colors of the cartoon cast.

I have not seen this one in over 20 years of collecting, and neither have any of a number of fellow lighter collectors I have send photos to in advance of this listing. This is a must have for the serious collector of flat ad lighters or POPEYE collectors. You may never see another....

As with all vintage lighters I do not guarantee the working condition, although given the simple design, I see no reason that it would not fire up with flint and fluid. It\'s in marvelous sparking condition and you will not be disappointed! All flint and fluid screws are in perfect condition, and turn freely. The flint tube is clear. Why anyone would ever add a flint and fluid to this rare lighter is beyond me!

Please allow 5 days to handle as I am disabled, and this lighter only flies to the contiguous US states regardless of how much spinach is spent...LOL.
